The Fundació d'Economia Analítica (FEA) is a private foundation founded in 1990 with foundational capital donated by the electric company FECSA with the aim to stimulate  frontier research in the Institute of Economic Analysis (IAE). The FEA has its legal seat at the IAE and is closely related to its researchers. The Board is made up of the president and vice-president of the CSIC, two representatives of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government), and a small group of independent academics. Thedirector and deputy director of the IAE lead the management and coordination of the FEA activities, which are supervised by the Board.

One of the Foundation's main contribution is to provide support to manage  and encourage obtaining financial resources necessary to promote academic research and international visibility. The FEA has a long experience in managing research projects,  collaboration agreements, and contracts with renown national and international institutions. Examples of institutions with which we have worked include AXA Research Fund, University of Amsterdam, STICERD (UK), the World Bank, the Bank of France, the BBVA Foundation, BBVA Research, SEPI, Fundación Areces, and Banc of Sabadell. In addition, the FEA has developed own research programs to promote research on specific areas.

The FEA is not a patrimonial foundation. The FEA does not receive financial support from its Board of Trustees, does not have means for self-funding, nor does it receive funding from the government or any other public or private parent organization.
